I was delighted when our fabulous researcher Hannah uncovered a peripheral cue lollapalooza made for radio for the Persuasion episode of N of Us: voice voice voice.
My favourite of the trove was this study from DeShields, Kara and Kaynak, Source Effects in Purchase Decisions: The Impact of Physical Attractiveness and Accent of Salesperson. It gave me the opportunity to explore General American, apparently the most trustworthy accent in the country.
But accent is only part of the story. Hannah also found that voice pitch influences behaviour, fron Cara C. Tigue et al's study, Voice Pitch Influences on Voting Behaviour.
